Mayor elect Dean Fortin faced a great deal of criticism during the election campaign over the issue of homelessness. With over 20 years of experience helping to deal with the growing crisis, it must baffle Dean why people don’t yet realize how capable he is of ending an unendable situation.
A press release sent to the media this week informed us of a photo op. Dean was going to give away a coat! Perhaps he has bought a new coat to celebrate his newly won position of power. Perhaps, and this is a possibility that many of us at electionsvictoria.ca, being poor or homeless, find hard to believe, he may own more than one coat!
Regardless, someone is warmer tonight, and we now have even more proof that Dean is the man who will save us all and bring us the pride of being the only city in the world to ever END homeless, and in the middle of a financial crisis, no less. Way to go, Dean!
